Terms & Conditions

DBA Dance Academy has several rules and policies in place for staff, parents, and students. These are essential for the safety, happiness, and progression of our students & the academy.

Enrolment

All students are required to enrol at DBA , this secures their space and makes sure all details are up to date and correct.

Leaving DBA 

Please let me know before the next fee date is due either by email, message, or face to face at class. No refunds will be given for anything you have previously paid for ( show tickets, costumes, fees, uniforms etc). Failing to let me know before the next fee date you will still be liable to pay, no exceptions.

Fee’s

At DBA, our fees are on a pay monthly basis with fees having been worked out in a pro rata formula and are due on the 1st of each month to the following 1st of the month by standing order. failing to pay fees on time will result in your child losing their space within the academy. Fees are still paid for the month of July as they are spread across the 12 months (Pro Rata) Failing to pay for July will result in your child losing their space for returning in the new term in August. 

Class Cancelations

DBA Dance Academy reserves the right to cancel a class(es) if there are not enough students attending. NO refund will be given if the circumstances are out with our control, for example, weather conditions, unwell etc. If a class is cancelled, we will try and make it back up at a later date. Also if I for any reason cannot make a class i will always try and provide cover. 

Child Protection 

The safety of DBA students is our number one priority. All teachers are PVG checked and we have a child protection policy in place. Parents are not allowed to sit in classes and watch or standing at the doors and look through. No student will be allowed out the centre alone without supervision or permission by a parent or guardian to do so. This must be given in writing. 

Physical Contact

this may be required between the teacher and student in an appropriate manner to teach and correct movements & spacing etc.

Photos and Videos

these will only be taken during class times for the students to go away and practice or used for advertisement of the Academy on our social pages. Please ensure you have answered the questions when signing up if this is allowed or not for your child. 

Health and Safety

please make sure there is a teacher in the venue when you arrive with, you’re child to take part in classes, and they are supervised outwith the class times. 

Medical attention

Minor injuries may be treated within class if required, anything more than this the parent / guardian / emergency contact / emergency services will be contacted. An emergency 1st aid/accident book will be filled in.

personal belongings

DBA is not responsible for any loss or damage to belongings whilst at class. Please ensure not to bring any valuables to class. 

Uniform and Footwear

All students must have the correct footwear and dance wear to attend classes. This is for health and safety purposes and helps the teacher see the student doing the correct technique. 

food and drink

a small snack is allowed for those who are attending more than one class and only water or soft drinks are allowed within class. No fizzy drinks are permitted. Please ensure the snack is healthy and won’t be heavy in their stomach. No nuts or anything contacting nuts are permitted.

Toilet

students must be toilet trained before attending classes. Please ensure your child has been to the toilet before the class starts. Students must ask for permission to go to the toilet for health and safety reasons. 

Time keeping

Students must arrive on time and be ready to start. This is important so they get the most out of the class. Missing warms ups will increase the risk of injury and late arrivals can disrupt the rest of the class. Please come into the class quietly. If a parent wishes to speak to myself then please wait until the end of the class if the class has already started. 

Respect 

All students and parents/guardians must follow and respect DBA Dance Academy’s policies and terms and conditions .they must respect each other and be encouraging . No negativity will be allowed. We have zero tolerance at DBA for bullying and we will remove students and family’s from the Academy if they are found to be bullying or disrespecting anyone or the Academy. 

Showtime

All students must attend classes when taking part in the annual end of year showcase. Failing to attend can result in you not being part of dances , space changes and not being able to take part. 

Messaging 

Our messaging hours at DBA is between the hours are Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm , anything outwith these times I will get back to you the next working day . During class times the business phone will be kept on for emergency’s only and to use for music . If you do message during class times I may see it however not be able to get back to you until the next working day .
